But mold, unfortunately, is far less finicky. Mold will make its home on anything organic. Seriously. The tiniest trace of organic material, when combined with moisture and a lack of moving air, can provide adequate nutrition to a whole colony of mold. Dust (which is mostly dead skin cells and dirt), soap scum, paper, carpet and even lint will all work well enough for mold when it’s hungry.

Think about the areas in your bathroom where these three elements come together and, if you look, you will probably discover mold or, at the very least, mold’s musty smell. Make sure to inspect under the sink, in the shower, and in the cracks between the floor and the wall, as these are the areas where you’ll likely find mold.
